In that realm just beyond beginning sewing… lies sewing nerdom. When trapped in this dimension, the nerdy sewer is far beyond just stashing fabric because it is pretty. This is a purely nerdy state, whence the sewist anticipates her time with the machine, gets revved by rad patterns, and follows compatriots’ Twitter feeds religiously, often at the detriment of paid occupation, relationships, and sleep. March on, fellow nerds!

I’m a 30-something needlecraft enthusiast. I live in Denver and love fabric, learning and artistry. I’m still trying to find my niche in sewing, so I have lots of creative adventures to share!
My two dogs, my husband Mike, reading and writing are my other passions, and I may occasionally share them here. Other things I enjoy but likely won’t share much: Broncos football, rock music, and contemporary science fiction on TV, particularly Doctor Who.
By day, I do PR for education groups, dedicated to making make US public schools better. I am an ex-journalist & public radio reporter, which means not so long ago I was, for example, covering the Winter X-Games for work.
I’ll be honest, I prefer living a simple life in a place I love, surrounded by people I adore. Learning about sewing keeps me grounded in life’s beautiful simplicities. I’ve also discovered a camaraderie with very creative people, both via my Sewing Social in Denver and in the virtual world.
I feel very blessed!
