When there’s a record heat, who wants to iron? I certainly don’t. I am one of those sewists who doesn’t have air conditioning. So, add the heat of an iron to 100-degree weather and you’ve got one roasted lady.

When the heat broke today (it’s a “cool” 70 degrees now), I jumped at the opportunity to press yards of crushed fabric that’s been waiting on my ironing table.

Thank goodness for spray starch, which makes a delay in ironing forgivable!

How do you manage ironing in the heat of summer?
